Registrations

All companies are required to register with the following bodies in order to legally operate:

  • South African Revenue Services (for tax)
  • Department of Trade and Industry (your local office)
  • Department of Labour (UIF)

In line with the Skills Development Act 1998, all companies that operate within the labour recruitment industry (perm, temp or labour hire) are required to register with the Department of Labour as a Private Employment Office for Gain.

This application form has to be completed and submitted to your local Department of Labour office. Once your application has been received, Department of Labour inspectors will arrange to conduct an inspection visit and audit your premises to determine whether or not to approve your registration.

Once confirmed, you will be issued with a Registration Certificate that must be displayed in your reception. This certificate must be renewed every two years or any time that you move premises.
