Membership of APSO is not automatic. Companies that wish to join APSO need to apply and will be assessed to ensure that they meet the requirements laid down by the association. Membership is only open to companies that operate within the labour recruitment industry whether it’s perm, temp or labour hire.

Membership is only open to registered companies or individuals operating as a sole trader within the labour recruitment industry. Unfortunately individual recruiter membership is not currently offered by APSO.

Companies wishing to apply for membership need to meet the following requirements before an application can be considered:

Legal Compliance

In order to apply for membership with APSO, you need to be in possession of the following:

• Company / CC registration documents
• Registration with the Department of Labour (see attached application form)
• Income Tax reference number from SARS
• SDL, UIF, PAYE reference numbers from SARS
• Workman’s Compensation reference (only if you have employees)
• VAT registration number (if applicable)
• IRP30 (if you intend running a Temporary Employment Services agency)
• Company Profile
• Details of all of your branches and / or subsidiary companies (if applicable)
• Application Form that you ask candidates to complete when registering with your agency
• Terms & Conditions of business that you ask clients to sign when dealing with your agency
• Temp contract that you ask temps to sign (if you operate a TES)
• Service Level Agreement that you ask your clients to sign (if you provide them with temps)

• Designated offices that provide room for confidential interviewing
• Sufficient office amenities and facilities to operate professionally
• NO CHARGE to candidates
• Within 6 months of joining APSO your consultants & management are required to write the APSO Entrance exam to ensure a minimum knowledge level
