EQ has been linked to higher employee productivity, company profits, employee engagement and customer satisfaction, as well as reducing workplace related stress and absenteeism. EQ is our emotional and relational intelligence that enables us to connect and to collaborate and is therefore often referred to as the variable distinguishing high performing employees from others, especially in positions that typically require more relational effectiveness, such as leadership, management,  sales, client interfacing roles and team roles. Resistance to change, poor interpersonal relations and conflict are typical signs of low EQ competence. IQ is our technical ability that enables us to perform intellectually well in a position. Improving our EQ skills and tapping into our intellectual ability will enable us to increase our personal effectiveness, productivity and performance.
