APSO President Tabea Magodielo wins 2013 SACBW Business Woman of the Year: Entrepreneur

Second from left: Tabea Magodielo

The SA Council for Business Women (SACBW) was established in 1988 with the intention and goal to establish an organisation that represents women in business and create a vehicle for women to network, learn from each other, grow and mentor other women in the field of business. The slogan "Unlocking Potential” is key to this organisation as it is the explicit goal of this organisation to see women grow into the full potential they were created with and to see them reach their goals and succeed in business. Since 1985 the prestigious "Business Woman of the Year” award has recognised the accomplishments of outstanding women in business in South Africa.

The process is very robust with written entries undergoing paper-based scrutiny before short-listed applicants are invited to be interviewed at regional level. As the winner for the Gauteng Region, Tabea was invited to be considered for the overall national award and underwent a further panel interview before she was awarded the winner in the Entrepreneur category.

Tabea's qualifications include: B Soc Science – Social Work (University of the North West), BSc Hons Psychology (MEDUNSA), and a Masters in Clinical Psychology (University of SA). As the Joint MD of TPG Consulting, a South African generalist recruitment agency, Tabea is actively involved in recruitment of senior candidates and runs a large temp contract. Her professional experience as a Psychologist enables her to facilitate various organisational development interventions and HR processes. She has been extensively involved in psychometric assessments and training and has worked in the both corporate and military environments as HR Consultant and Psychologist.

Tabea serves on the boards of G4S (PTY) LTD, South African United Employers Union (Vice Chairperson) and Federation of African Professional Staffing Organisations as President. She is also currently a Commissioner on the Commission for Employment Equity (CEE) and is a passionate supporter of transformation within the business sector.

Tabea has been actively involved with APSO since 2010, having served initially as Transformation Chair before being elected as President in 2011.

APSO is extremely proud of our President and believe that she is a deserving winner of this award. Congrats Tabea!
