Tabea Magodielo a worthy recipient of the Founders Cup

The Founders Cup has been in existence for nearly as long as APSO, and was instituted to recognise the outstanding contribution of an individual to the organisation. Tabea Magodielo is a worthy winner and was officially presented the Founders Cup at last week’s APSO year end function.

Tabea joined the APSO Council in 2009 in the role of Transformation Chair and was vocal in her desire to see APSO transform. She lobbied for the Topline Research into membership needs and travelled around SA meeting with members to better understand what they wanted from APSO. In 2010 she was elected as the Vice President of APSO and served alongside Raj Maharaj, continuing her quest to drive APSO towards an inclusive future. She was elected to the APSO Presidency in 2011 and during her tenure has represented the organisation at Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), CAPES and NEDLAC.

One of the highlights was her election as a Commissioner to the Employment Equity Commission and her role as a facilitator at the 2014 Employment Equity and Transformation Indaba. It was indeed a proud moment for APSO and the industry to have one of our own lead such a critically important session. In June this year she was further honoured with a role as one of three business representatives for South Africa at the ILO “Building a future with Decent Work” conference in Geneva. She proudly represented our industry and has been instrumental in drafting and launching the Charter for South African Private Employment Agencies, reaffirming our commitment to professionalism and compliance.

In July 2014 Tabea completed her full 3-year tenure but remains actively involved in the industry, continuing to serve at BUSA, Employment Equity Commission and at CAPES. Congratulations Tabea, we are so proud of you!
